Dr. Ian Knuckey is the Director of Fishwell Pty Ltd, with over 40 years of experience as a fisheries scientist. He holds a PhD in fishery population dynamics and has worked extensively in coastal and offshore fisheries across Australia and the Indo-West Pacific. Fishwell P/L promotes sustainable fishing practices by providing research, development, and extension services to the fishing and seafood industries.
Ian's work focuses on designing and implementing fishery-dependent and fishery-independent scientific monitoring programs, developing fisheries harvest strategies, bycatch reduction, and stakeholder communication and education. Dr. Knuckey chairs several State and Commonwealth Resource Assessment Groups and participates in fisheries management advisory roles. Ian’s work focuses on fostering understanding and collaboration between stakeholders to ensure fisheries' economic and biological sustainability.
