Fred Chaaya

Fred is a project engineer at the UNSW Water Research Laboratory. Over the past 3 years, Fred has worked on a number of projects with the aim of mitigating cold water pollution. He lead a comprehensive literature review to identify the optimal strategy for mitigating cold water pollution, which included a systematic assessment of over 120 artificial destratificaiton systems world-wide. Fred has played a pivotal role in the review of the previously implemented Cold Water Pollution Strategy, facilitating the development of a revised Strategy. More recently, Fred has provided ongoing conceptual design work and technical advice for a potential large-scale artificial destratification trial project.
